Kern River is one of North America's steepest whitewater rivers, with a graidient of 30-ft/mile. Around Kernville, the river features Class II rapids. Kern river also provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy fly fishing for rainbow trout and wild trout. 

The Sequoia National Forest is home to the Giant Sequoia National Monument, where you'll find some of the largest Giant Sequois and the world, including the Boole Tree. The Needles, a fantastic rock-climbing locations is also located in Sequoia National Forest.

Sequoia Mountain Bakery is a small bakery and café in Kernville, California. It offers sourdough, croissants, pastries, coffee, and rotating breakfast and lunch items. Seating is generally casual. Hours are typically Wednesday through Sunday in the morning and early afternoon. Customers include locals and visitors heading to nearby outdoor areas.
